Autumn 2018 Workshops in Chemistry

The purpose of these workshops is to enable teachers to explore the application of a Planning Database' technological tool which has been developed in order to model peer-to-peer collaboration with colleagues in the workshop and discussing its potential application in school. Resources embedded within the database include those with an emphasis on numeracy and literacy. Ways in which this tool enhances the role of the teacher individually or collectively as a Lab Technician, Safety Auditor, Action Researcher (using reflective practice) will be addressed. We will also analyse data which highlights areas students find difficult and those in which they perform well.
In order to distribute our Chemistry database tool we would appreciate if teachers could bring a new blank 16 Gbyte USB stick to the meeting (this will avoid viruses) and we will exchange it for one with the database preloaded. Instructions on its use and how you can add your resources to it will be provided thus personalising it to your needs e.g. as a Lab Technician, Safety Auditor, Action Researcher (using reflective practice).
